Kunio Okawara

All right.

So for the series itself, if you're watching the credits, you will see that Okawara Kunio and Fujita Kazuki are credited with the standard mechanical design credit, Okawara, of course, being the mecha designer on the original Mobile Suit Gundam.

Uh, and then you've got Nagano Mamoru is credited with design works, and that is an English term written in katakana, design works.

So again, Okawara, we know him well.

He's contributed to basically every Gundam project in the years since.

He is synonymous with Gundam.

So suffice it to say, Nagano's influence on Zeta Gundam and its look is really, really vast.

As for the mobile suits themself, uh, Nagano's initial submissions for the Rick Dias, as piloted by Quattro Bajeena, and the Gelgoog Beta, as piloted by Jerid Mesa, those were not well-received by Bandai and by Sunrise execs.

By this point, Imagawa was coming into his own as a director, and he was able to give input throughout the design stage.

Meanwhile, mecha designer Okawara Kunio now enjoyed a clearer idea of the kind of show that he was working on.

So this time, the special moves would be integrated into the mobile fighter starting from the design stage.

We haven't seen them in action yet, so for now I will simply say that the one-sixtieth scale model of the God introduced a never-before-seen innovation in Gunpla hand technology, individually articulated fingers.
