Kunihiko Ukai

... sort of, it's based on a, on a story of a, of a girl who came to work for his production company when he started it up.

Uh, a young girl who had, um, who was asked, I think the, um, the, one of the producers, the producer of this film, uh, Ukai, mm, Ukai Kunihiko, I think, uh, had, who was working with, uh, Chusei Sone at this production company, was asked by a friend to hire this girl who had come into Tokyo from, from the countryside.

And he listened to her talking about her own stories, and they decided to make it a film.

And it's, it's really amazing because she's also the lead in the film.

But, um, you see those two names, and it's always one that makes me want to listen to the commentary, 'cause I know it's gonna be insightful.

That was, that was Ukai Kunihiko, who actually Tom helped me, uh, connect with, and I went to his house, like, in Chiba.

And [laughs] normally, you know, sometimes when you interview somebody, like we'll talk about this lady with Survive Style 5, you know, you have to ask a lot of questions to get any decent answers.
