Kunihiko Ikuhara

She reminds me of, like...

I know she studied under Ikuhara, but she reminds me more of Ikuhara's other Sailor Moon friends, Sato and Igarashi, in that I feel like she has a style that is...

She has a style that is hers and it is recognizable, but she is also able to take other people's works and stories and adapt them in ways that is very engaging.

And, like, I feel like she can, like...

i guess i have heard that firewalk with me was big in japan eh

yeah well and and the uh kunihiko ikuhara the director has like talked about being very directly inspired by twin peaks

oh cool

like but like just in general but i think there's a lot of twin peaks in utana definitely

That's amazing.

I knew he had some Ikuhara blood in him.

Yeah, that makes sense now.

So, Kester, what you're saying is I can be arrogant about having watched this because it's an unappreciated, critical darling, and that makes me cultured and smart.
