So where do you land on this spectrum of options from really overt tracking to covert tracking?

Kunal ParikhGUEST
This is a very nuanced question and there's a couple of layers that we need to get into before we get to that particular question.

Kunal ParikhGUEST
So first we must begin with what is the purpose of the tracking? Why are we using it? Is it because of wandering? Is it because of a fall risk? Is it for the caregiver's peace of mind? Is that reason symptomatic of something else? I could be hungry, I could be stressed, I could be disoriented, I could be bored, I might be in pain, I might have anxiety.

Kunal ParikhGUEST
So when we use passive tracking, does that substitute for this investigation or relational care? Once we've answered that, then the second thing we need to think about is, What happens when the tracking reveals something untoward, right? Like, is there a clear action-oriented pathway? Are there any distinct next steps that we have in mind? As an example, I get an alert that my watch has detected abnormal heart rhythm.

Kunal ParikhGUEST
What's my game plan now? How do I weed through the false positives? What do I do if there has in fact been a fall? Without these next steps and considerations, passive tracking is just noise under a thin veil of false reassurance.

What are the patterns that you see in the founders that are genuinely ready for outside help versus those that might approach you for help, but they're not actually ready for it?

why don't they recognize themselves as caregivers? What have you found is the biggest disconnect in them identifying as caregivers versus, oh, I'm just helping out?

Kunal ParikhGUEST
So let's say you have a child, right? You're getting pregnant, you have a parent, or you are expecting the child and then you deliver the baby.

Kunal ParikhGUEST
So that delivery, the birth of the child is a very clear and ceremonious transition into your new role of a parent.

Kunal ParikhGUEST
But when you think about caregiving, like even you said earlier, you might just be checking in, hey, how's it going? I'm going to order some groceries to your home.

Where in our healthcare systems should we be catching this? Where should this be best addressed, do you think? Is it the doctor's office? Is it when something happens in the hospital? Is it during follow-up care? Is it in the community? Like, where do you feel like is the best place to position this work for caregivers?
