I guess the same is true for me as well when I think back on it, and we'll get into it.

But just to set the table for our audience here, we are now in this post-Crisis on Infinite Earths landscape, the period between the original Crisis and Infinite Crisis, where DC laid down the edict that Kal-El is not just the last son of Krypton, because that leaves some room there, but he is the sole survivor of the planet, and there can be no other Kryptonians.

And so what that means... during this period of time is that we get a handful of these alternate versions of Zod, the stand-ins or the interim Zods as we've been referring to them.

So just to lay this out for folks, we have the pocket universe Zod from the Supergirl saga, John Byrne's last arc.

So we're not going to be laying out all the nuts and bolts of everything.

But in the Supergirl saga, we go back to that pocket universe and we learn what happened after the death of Clark as Superboy.

And long story short, you had the arrival of a good version of Lex Luthor who was fiddling with Superboy's technology in the basement and made contact with this trio of Kryptonians.

who gave fake names, not entirely sure why, but we'll go with it.
