Those two individuals and two of their colleagues, one, Andrew Rambeau, who is from Edinburgh, and the other, Eddie Holmes, who is from Australia, they began to look at the sequence of SARS-CoV-2 after it was first published on January 20th of 2020. and they immediately became concerned that there were aspects of the sequence that strongly suggested it had been genetically engineered and thus that the virus had a lab origin, and not only a lab origin, but a lab origin involving deliberate genetic enhancement using recombinant DNA techniques.

They, in the third week of January 2020, they contacted their funding agency heads.

The big ask was that the funding agency heads instructed these people who had approached them with their concerns about lab origin that not only could they not discuss a lab origin, but they should publish a, quote, scientific paper, something posing as a scientific paper, saying that science rules out the possibility of a laboratory origin.

They discussed this big ask the next day in their correspondence.

This individual, the individual, the second individual, Christian Anderson said, how can we comply with this big ask? It is, and here I'm directly quoting, it is so frigging likely that this has a lab origin because we know the sequence and we know the research that was being performed in the Wuhan lab, which matches the features we see in the sequence.

But they reached a conclusion they would comply.

Christian Anderson, Robert Gary, and other scientists knew the truth, but they didn't tell the truth.

They covered it up.

Behind closed doors, they admitted a lab escape was likely.

In public, they dismissed it as a conspiracy theory.

The infamous Proximal Origin paper, which was authored by Anderson, Gary, Holmes, Andrew Rambeau, and W. Ian Lipkin, was a coordinated effort to mislead the public.
