Oh, absolutely.

I have a lot to do with the boys from Koroit, which is another great show at the start of just in the new year.

A lot to do with them.

And we work in well together, same.

I come from rural, regional Victoria, though.

Grew up in Koroit and Warrnambool, south west Victoria.

And, uh, I just, I liked being outdoors, and I was interested in science.

So when it came time to choose a uni degree, uh, ag science ticked a lot of those boxes.

Of those 15, 10 were located in Port Fairy.

A total of $40,000 was handed out, with the Port Fairy and District Community Bank receiving the largest allocation of $4,529.42. Other towns where businesses won were Koroit, Mortlake, Killarney, and Peterborough.

And I should just give one quick shout-out.

We had a, when we were talking about premierships, um, obviously Koroit defeated North Melbourne last week.

Yeah.

Like if something comes up that's more convenient between sort of now and then, you're going to jump at it, aren't you? So I think the three-month thing, that's where it'll fall over.

The federal government, of course, announced last week it will place limits on working holiday visas, commonly known as backpacker visas.

Daniel Parkinson is a dairy farmer from Kirkstall near Koroit.

He says labour is the biggest issue he faces and any change to the migration system could have a big impact on his business.

Yeah, so we milk about 4,000 cows over four dairies and we employ about 15 full-time staff, 95% of which are skilled migrants, and seasonally we'll employ... an extra sort of four backpackers at calving time in autumn, sort of, yeah, another two or three casuals at harvest time, depending how big the harvest is.

I can first make you news in sport.

There will be no secrets when the North Warrnambool Eagles and Koroit clash in the Hamden League Senior Football Grand Final tomorrow.

It will be the fifth time since 2016 the Eagles and Saints have met in the Grand Final with Koroit leading 3-1.

The Eagles will go into the 20-26 decider at Reid Oval as favourites with a draw the only slight blemish on their season so far.

Koroit will take in momentum after a thrilling prelim final win over Terang Mortlake last Saturday.

Koroit and South Warrnambool will contest the Hamden Open Grade Netball Grand Final tomorrow.

This will be the third year in a row the two have fought it out for the Premiership Cup.

The score so far is 1-H with the Roosters winning in 2024 and Koroit back in 2025.

I think it was only a couple of points from memory there.

We spoke to Brady Hicks, obviously, last weekend, coaching the team against Koroit.

So, yeah, the three football teams around us all went out last weekend.

The report was tabled at the September Council meeting this week.

Among the works completed were the Larva Street bus interchange, the Tymall Street-Gillie Street intersection, the Otway Road pedestrian crossing and the Koroit and Wright Streets roundabout.

Road sealing, bridge and drainage works were also undertaken.

Councillor Billy Edis spoke of the importance of new works and ongoing maintenance.

Among those are the Penzurst organisations including the Football Netball Club, the Volcano Discovery Centre and the Country Women's Association.

Across the shire over $142,000 was allocated through 35 separate grants.

Funding has been allocated to investigate if St Patrick's Primary School in Koroit is a suitable location for a new kindergarten in the town.

Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorne made the announcement today.
