One battalion is said to have lost more than half its personnel so far.

Major General Andrei Yuryevich Pyatyev, commander of the 18th Combined Arms Army, has ordered the already depleted 127th Separate Reconnaissance Brigade to occupy the Korabel area of Quarantine Island in Kherson by the end of September.

Korabel is the southernmost district of Kherson City and located on Quarantine Island that's connected to the rest of the city by two bridges.

It's approximately six kilometers from Russian-held territory across the river islands.

Citing Russian sources, Chris O. quotes an officer from Russia's Dnieper group of forces as saying the group's command considers this task impossible and detrimental to the personnel due to a severe manpower shortage and low morale.
