King of Pro-Wrestling Has become an important event on the calendar the last two years with Zack Sabre Jr. and Takeshita win their titles there.

So they have changed the path from G1 to the IWGP title, a major show where a future is going to be kind of assessed and figuring out where we're going to be going for New Japan.

All, all of New Japan is doing is keeping momentum up.

Well, didn't happen on Dynamite when Andrade retained the National title over the Beast Mortos, who got the title match because, let me see, uh, he returned to AEW two weeks ago and lost to Takeshita, and he's also 0-16 in AEW singles matches since the middle of 2024.

If these were categorized as open challenges, I'd have less of an issue with it, but they're all scheduled matches.

The Demand later cut a promo on the trios champions that was quite poor, from Gates of Agony specifically, as they tried to make fun quips about the champions that did not exactly land.

On Collision, Conglomeration got a backstage promo saying they were all seeking gold despite recent losses.

Takeshita asked if he was part of the faction, to which Orange Cassidy said he had no way of knowing.

It's crazy that everyone in this faction was more interesting on their own than they are jammed together.

And, you know, it's been a while since we've seen that.

The last openweight challenger was Kushida when Takeshita was opening, was a champion.

And before that, I don't even know what it would be before that.

I know we've seen Gata Karomu do some openweight stuff.

Um, So, yeah, so I guess that's going to be his finisher, the Skyfall, a very weird move.

So, yeah, so that's pretty much the Junior Feud and Shun Skywalker.

Obviously, Shun is going to be challenging Takeshita, who's not on the tour yet, but that should be a fun matchup when that comes around.

So yeah, that's pretty much everything that happened on the first few nights here of Road to Destruction.

That'll be terrific.

For me, the three standout matches was Okada versus Takeshita versus... versus Kyle Fletcher.

And there's stuff brewing in the Don Callis family because Okada screwed over Kyle Fletcher and made the point he had the chance to pin either Takeshita or Kyle Fletcher for the belt, and he pinned his own quote-unquote teammate to get the belt.
