But I think if you want to do a splurge meal or a special event, then it's really worth going to some of these higher end properties on the Big Island.

That's something that I think on the Kohala Coast, like north of Kona, there's a lot of very high and resorts, many of which are well out of my price range, no matter what.

But you can still experience them if you make a dining reservation or something like that.

I think that's such a smart way of seeing different properties is doing the dining reservations.

And so you get very different vibes depending upon which side you're on.

We're usually on the Kona side.

We're staying on the Kohala Coast.

And then we occasionally trip over to the Hilo side, but it's a different vibe over there as well.

So we're a little bit protected.

But when you look out a little bit farther, right now, the Kohala Mountain Road, which is the main way to get up to Havi and over to Kapa'au, is closed.

So there's no way.

So you've got to come around on the Konikpuli Highway, go down Kauai High Road if you needed to get up to Havi right now.

And, you know, people have stocked up.

And, you know, the shelter is right in the middle of town.

For those that are not familiar, Waimea is just in that place where it sits in between the Kohala Mountains and Mauna Kea or a little bit between the Kohala Mountains and Hualalai over in Kona.

But Guy Hage and I have had discussions even this morning and yesterday about how the winds whipped through there.

So what Dominique told me was that he and his wife have jumped into a rental car.

They're driving to the northern part of the island, trying to get into Kohala and will be staying in the Waikoloa area tonight with hopes of getting a flight out of the Kona International Airport in the next day or so.

But basically, they said they're not going to wait for the storm to arrive in this part of the island.

Now, we want to show you some video also what we shot earlier with Southwest Airlines.

So Kua Bay is on the west side of course, but it's up in the north.

So it's up here in like the, on the Kohala coast, which if I go back, I think I would stay up there because these are like beautiful beaches.

It's not as much of the rocky shore.

There's still the rocks, but there's more.
