You've got Mark Twain's satire of the southern aristocracy in Kaneki Yankee and King Arthur's Court.

You have George Romero's meditation on the counterculture in Knight Riders.

And you've got Guy Ritchie's Arthur as a street tough in London in Legend of the Sword.

which is kind of actually an underrated movie.

I mean, you know.

Knight Riders.

Have any of you guys seen Knight Riders?

So it seems like this could be the case, and I like this angle.

George A. Romero's Knight Riders, a movie about people jousting on motorbikes in medieval costumes that I have covered before, was released the same weekend as Excalibur.

So I think I heard that this caused confusion, what with two movies based on some King Arthur lore at the same time.

I'm wondering if that really hurt Knight Riders at the box office, though.

I think it did, and I think I talked about that when I discussed Knight Riders in a previous episode that you can check out.

It's a really weird movie.

Lastly, that kick-ass charm of making that Merlin and Morgana speak, it's said to be an attempt at Old Irish.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

It's f- We, when we did Knightriders, [laughs] it was a SAG, George's first SAG movie, and because of the union rules, we had to have production reports, and to get a good pr- production report, you had to have things like call sheets, which George [laughs] didn't wanna know from.

He wanted to like, "Hey, man, just call everybody at 7:00 AM and we'll figure out what we're gonna do." [laughs]

Yeah, yeah.

He also ap- He, he was also in 1978's Dawn of the Dead in a small role, and he also pops up in Romero's, uh, Knightriders from '81.

Uh, that's, that's a weird one.

That's, that's a picture that we've had listeners write in and say, "Hey, you should cover Knightriders." Oh, and his other credits include Pulp Fiction from '94.

I believe he has just a very small role in that, and he's also in 1997's Wishmaster.

Choke on him indeed.
