The choice of Knievel by the Scud Mountain Boys over the end of the scene hardly feels accidental.

Even without digging into the lyrics, invoking evil Knievel over Hal Jordan is already fairly pointed.

Knievel built an entire public identity around spectacular risk, impossible jumps, and the possibility that sooner or later one of them would be the one he didn't get up from.

Hal has spent this episode presenting fearlessness as both qualification and philosophy, and behaving with the kind of casual relationship to danger that makes John admire him and Kerry increasingly suspicious of what that fearlessness actually means.

Now he is sitting dead in the snow, but this is where Legacy makes the ending more complicated than simply the Daredevil finally crashed, because Hal has left things behind.
