Nearly half of the sufferers who gave evidence had lost income, and around one in four had had to leave their job.

The All Party Group is chaired by Labour's Kirsteen Sullivan.

She explained why it had launched the inquiry.

Throughout my time on the APPG, it became really clear that there was an issue with women living with the condition, um, whilst in the workplace.

Uh, Kirsteen, let me start with you.

Why did the APPG decide to look specifically at the impact of endo in the workplace?

Thank you very much for having me on this morning.

Um, unfortunately, the results of the report are no surprise.

Um, one of the reasons that we decided to embark upon this inquiry is because we heard repeatedly from women that they were really struggling to maintain their hours at work.

Some, as you said, had had to leave their workplace altogether, and that takes a toll not only on their physical health but on their mental health and also on their financial wellbeing.

Um, I think as well, given the government's focus at the moment into how we can better support people with health conditions to go back into employment or to remain in employment, it seemed the appropriate time to be taking a deep dive into what the current situation is.

And what would you say it is? What were women telling you? Because this is an inquiry, uh, that has been continuing for many months.
