And so last time we were talking about your William Hope Hodgson anthology, and today we're talking about a new anthology.

So this is Abandoned Asylums.

It's coming, let's see, is it out now or is it, it's, or it's coming out very soon, right? Coming out, yes, within the next month or so.

And it's from Raw Dog Screaming Press.

And this is a really interesting anthology because it's not just a fiction anthology, but it also includes photographs.

Yes.

So I guess first, just kind of talk about like the genesis of where did this one start?

Okay.

It's the Kings Park Psychiatric Center on Long Island.

And it's massive.

It's a massive campus with a lot of buildings and people break into it.

So let's talk about some of the other strange things that goes on on Long Island.

Kings Park Psychiatric Center.

If you drive about 45 minutes north of Amityville, you'll hit Kings Park, home to one of the most talked about abandoned places on all of Long Island.

Kings Park Psychiatric Center opened its door in 1885, originally built as a farm colony where patients worked the land as a form of treatment, tending livestock and growing food instead of being locked away in cramped, overcrowded wards.

For a while, that farm colony approach was actually seen as progressive for its time.

It didn't last.

I used to live in Long Island, so my friend and I would, whenever we made the trip, we would take what we would call the spooky route.

We would drive past the Kings Park Psychiatric Center, the Stillwell Preserve, and Cold Spring Harbor.

Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

We were just looking for anything scary.
