Can you tell our audience a little bit about what, um, The Winter Witch is about?

Okay, so it's the story of two sisters who, um, are orphaned, and they're poor, and they're, um, based on real people who would've existed in the 17th century, uh, French women who were sent to Canada during the 17th century as, uh, king's daughters, or filles du roi.

And these are the founding mothers of French Canada, and there are some 20 million descendants of these filles du roi in North America today.

And so I center the story around these two women who get on this bride ship and they head off to Quebec, but that is, like, who the characters are.

But the story is about them meeting a witch on board.

I'm such a huge fan of historical fiction to begin with.

Like, set in any time period in any country, I'm always fascinated by that.

Um, and of course, if you're Canadian, you would have learned about the Filles du roi in probably, I don't know, grade eight ge- uh, history, and then again in Canadian history in high school.
