Hailing from Doomadgee, about 400 kilometers northwest of Mount Isa, the DMC Boys just played their biggest show to date, opening for Aussie rock sensation King Stingray.

Playing with, uh, King Stingray is, uh, pretty big for us, and we wanna get out there, we wanna share our music, and hopefully more opportunities like this will help us to get to where we are now.

Um, it actually has made a big effect in our community with, uh, the youth and just everyone back home.

Uh, they're so proud of the DMC Boys, the band, and we've got younger boys who's coming along now and wanting to join in and learn music and sing and play a guitar or a drum or whatever, so it's definitely made an effect in our community.

The DMC Boys' biggest performance of their career landed at a concert celebrating the reopening of Burke Town's airstrip northeast of Doomadgee, which was destroyed in 2023 floods.
