King of the Mountain

the whole time and when people are talking to me i lift it up to give them eye contact but one eye still on the thing

because i'm like every single turn could be a disaster and i love it yeah i just watch highlights like when the kangaroos jumped over in front of them and stuff like that like mate but yeah bathurst is that is one of my biggest like um bucket list yep is to go for a four-day event there you've never been yeah yeah right mount panorama i would just and i really want to drive along the track afterwards and just play middle king of the mountain

You can do the drive kind of thing.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But even though King of the Mountain from Midnight Oil is nothing to do with Peter Brock, but I don't care.

It's fucking brilliant.

Oh,

It goes to over 200,000 for that weekend.

But, yeah, the king of the mountain, nine times winner, Peter Brock, will share some memories.

You know the Bathurst 1000 starts on my birthday? Does it really? Yeah, October 7th.

And I feel so old.

We'll lock it in.

We'll lock it in and we'll do a segment together.

You know, whenever you think about Peter Brock or you see anything on Peter Brock, they always play from the Blue Sky Mining album, 1990, Midnight Oil, King of the Mountain.

It's not about Peter Brock.

As we've done this week and last week, we'll keep an eye on the US Open for you as well over in New York.

And I should also mention Australian motorsport, remembering the legendary Peter Brock, because today marks the 20-year anniversary of the passing of the King of the Mountain.

And I'll share with you some lovely comments.

that are around the place today from Craig Lowndes, who's certainly following in the footsteps of the late, great Peter Brock.

Hey, by the way, I made mention of this briefly off the top of the show.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the passing of the, well, Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock.

He was the king of the mountain.

He died aged 61 at the wheel of a V8 sports car when it crashed into a tree on Targa West, a rally run near Perth in WA back in 2006.
