King Kai

We're like, we're gonna take a break from Dragon Ball.

We did some Dawn to Dawn, did some Ghost in the Shell, and a few other things, you know, Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK, Kaiju number eight, all kinds of stuff.

So we did a lot of other stuff, but now we just got to get back to our bread and butter because, you know, Dragon Ball Beerus is coming out next month, which we're going to cover weekly, by the way.

So we're excited about that.

Adebayo has a couple questions for us, Toby, as usual.

Question number one, for Mice's wolf frame, do you think that Sora can get a Kaioken-like boost if a Blood Moon is out? I don't know what a Kaioken is.

The fate of Planet Namek, stringing on the balance.

I remember when they did Kai on TV, and that's kind of like, that was what was actually streaming on my TV.

It was still about two episodes for Goku to go Super Saiyan.

They couldn't cut that much.

Did you watch the original Dragon Ball Z or just Kai?

Absolutely.

I've watched all of it.

I've got all of it.

Filler is stuff that fills in, okay? Like, people love to bring up Goku and Piccolo getting their driver's license as filler.

My go-to of, like, how I define filler is Goku chasing Bubbles and Gregory on King Kai's planet.

Because that stuff happened in the manga, but, like...

Goku going to King Kai's planet, and then Goku leaving King Kai's planet stronger and with new moves, those are important parts of the canon.

What he does while on the planet does not matter.

King Kai could have asked him to do anything and been like, okay, here's your power-up, and it would have made sense.

Therefore, the events that transpire in this specific setting are filler.

It is just anything you can fill in to this event that is not necessary to, like, advance the main narrative or a character narrative or something is being advanced.

I think it's pretty, I think it's pretty close.

It's one of my worst ones, but I tell you what, I pulled out a King Kai-

What, what about, and obviously, like, a lot of time goes by here, but at some point, you make something that you're proud of.

I remember the first drawing that I did that I thought was good was from Dragon Ball Z. I remember I drew King Kai, who's kind of a obscure character.

Mm-hmm.

But I didn't have to do the hair for him, so.

So I think my problem here is that this road to destruction is like that road in Dragon Ball Z that Goku has to travel down after he dies when he gets resurrected to get back from the afterlife.

And there's King Kai's little line at the end of it.

Basically, it took him about 18 weeks to get to... from one end of this road to the other and I've forgotten what it's called but just every episode every time it cuts out let's see what Goku's up to and it's like yeah he's still going down the road so this is what the road to destruction is it is the never ending road to destruction and yeah we're trying to just sift through I'm not going to say the shit to find Nuggets of God because it's not shit it's good but there's only so much we can say about it what I would like to say first of all is to very important public service announcement to our UK-based listeners.
