I'm your host Nesbitt and we're picking it up again today with Night Demon on tour with Overkill and King Diamond.

We're nearing the end of the tour now as the band heads to a show in Inglewood, California.

This is the King Diamond tour.

They sit upon their thrones.

After dark they call for those without a home.

The Virgin Theater is the old Hard Rock Casino.

So we had played there before with Cyra Thungle for the Psycho Vegas thing, and I'd seen a bunch of concerts there before.

Uh, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, good music.

Uh, King Diamond, Fatal Portrait.

Yeah, and there was a Fates Warning record that year, too, Awake in the Guardian, so King Diamond be a little bit busy.

Now while we're on the topic of Gus G, before we go back to Mystic Prophecy, let's just finish off the Gus G story so we can round that off.

In 2005, Gus G also briefly played alongside Arch Enemy, but in 2026, so as of this year, he became a full-time guitarist for King Diamond.

and now let's get back to our hidden gem band mystic prophecy uh they're formed we've got all four members now we've got leah and martin albrecht from valley's eve coming in as bass guitarist and lead vocalist and then we got gus g and dennis ekdal coming in as the drummer and lead guitarist from firewind and we've got our lineup mystic prophecy now because all these members came from other bands mystic prophecy originally by the media were considered just a side project and nothing to take too seriously mainly because valley's even firewind was seen as the most stable core primary focused bands but leah fought this profusely advising in many interviews that mystic prophecy is a permanent band not a one-time thing and it is here to stay And Leo was correct to do so as well because Valley's Eve, that project, that band that was seen as more stable, released their final album in 2002, one year after Mystic Prophecy released their debut album.

And that debut album came out on the 24th of August 2001 and it is called Vengeance.

Dreams of Darkness from the self-titled first release came out just a couple months ago on the Monarch label.

They don't try to mush it into one all unrecognizable mess.

You know, that's the same way where King Diamond, it's like, well, my solo stuff is distinct from my Merciful Fate stuff.

It's better to have side projects rather than to taint your own project, right? That's the best way to put it, taint it.
