Well, first, let me say, so my background is in applied linguistics, which is a little bit different from theoretical linguistics in the sense that I'm mostly interested in describing what language does in the real world.

And not prescribing what language should do.

And my training for my master's and my PhD was in corpus linguistics, which is, you know, big databases of language that we study to look for patterns.

And so, actually, the story behind that research is that I had, I don't know if you're familiar, there's a platform, it's a social media platform for researchers and academics that is called ResearchGate.

It's where we can share our research a little more openly than, you know, especially if it's kind of behind a paywall, people can share.
