Kimball Junction

We did have one of our crashes clear in Parley's Canyon.

It's the one that was closer to Kimball Junction.

That one has moved out of the way totally now.

And we are still seeing just a little bit of slowing if you're traveling up to the golf course, because we do still have one just right after you pass the quarry there.

Here's Cormac Bone.

We have delays starting up eastbound I-80 in the right lane between Kimball Junction and the U.S. 40 turnoff, and northbound I-15 right now just a little slow approaching the I-80-201 interchange.

That's where the delays start, and it doesn't ease up until you pass the cleanup.

And then you have all the way out in Kimball Junction, you have the right lane full as you pass Kimball Junction and head toward the US-40 turnoff.

Northbound I-15, still seeing some pretty heavy residual traffic from the point of the mountain, really all the way up to 5300 south, and then again from 3300 south up to 13th south.

I mean, the wages here, you're 20% to 30% higher than you are even at Kimball Junction.

I mean, because of its town, everyone knows it's difficult to get in here.

Why am I, why would I as a service worker when I can walk a block, make 25 bucks an hour, or I can drive into Sandy and make 18? You know, I mean, it doesn't, you know, economically speaking, it makes no sense.

Normal delays on I-15 northbound approaching Bangor Highway and southbound from the north interchange down to 600 north.

Eastbound I-80, that right lane, pretty regularly full from Kimball Junction over to the U.S. 40 turnoff.

The slowest freeway is eastbound I-80 in the right lane between Kimball Junction and the U.S. 40 turnoff.

I-15 looking really good, the only slow spot there, northbound approaching Bangor Highway.

Got some delays at the south interchange, northbound I-15 and eastbound on 215 South Belt.

Looks like that's just regular congestion, no crash or debris on the road there, just a little slow.

Eastbound I-80, that right lane, also pretty dense between Kimball Junction and the U.S. 40 turnoff.

Where's the problem, Cormac?

Andy, eastbound I-80 is closed right now at Kimball Junction.

That's due to a crash, and it looks like they have completely stopped all those lanes.

Delays are going to start building quick.

Second, Utahns are expected to hit the road today in large numbers, even with gas prices being a dollar higher than they were this time last year.

Third, traffic and weather together.

Eastbound I-80 is still closed at Kimball Junction.

It looks like you can get off of I-80 at Kimball and then maybe flip around and try and keep going eastbound, but it is real slow and go, reaching back toward Jeremy Ranch.

Northbound Highway 89, still very slow going from 193 up to the mouth of Weber Canyon, and then past that up to Harrison Boulevard, also pretty slow.

Eastbound I-80, it's that right lane between Kimball Junction and the U.S. 40 turnoff.

Down in Utah County, we really haven't had any problems on I-15 all morning, and we still don't as you head up towards the point of the mountain there in fact most of the roads have cleared out except for you guessed it 2100 north in lehigh

southbound i-15 has eased up through most of weber and davis county still a little slow around the north interchange coming into salt lake northbound highway 89 though that's where it's uh still been very heavy that starts as you approach the mouth of weber canyon reaches all the way up to harrison boulevard and skyline drive as drivers head up toward weber canyon as the school year starts up Eastbound I-80, seeing the regular delays in that right lane approaching Kimball Junction and from Kimball Junction all the way over to the US-40 turnoff.
