Uh, but we do get a lot of bad ones, and today, well, let's just toss it over to Kim.
0:37
Oh, Dave, do I have a bad pitch for you.
0:40
Hi, this is Kim Newlove.
0:42
I host The Pharmacist's Voice podcast, which you can find at thepharmacistsvoice.com. We talk about pharmacy topics and careers so my audience feels connected to the profession of pharmacy and inspired to contribute to it.
0:58
Here's my pitch story.
1:00
This pitch came to me via email, and I'm going to read it to you.
1:04
It's really, really long, and it's a bad pitch because lawyers pitched me, supposedly thinking that I have an audience full of lawyers.
1:45
Ooh.
2:12
So we're gonna start off with Kim Newlove from The Pharmacist's Voice.
2:16
Hi Dave, this is Kim Newlove with The Pharmacist's Voice podcast and The Perrysburg Podcast.
2:22
The book that I would recommend is called Find Your Red Thread: Make Your Big Ideas Irresistible by Tamsen Webster.
2:30
I recommend this book because I think as podcasters, we all need to think about how we are subject matter experts about something, and we love our topic and we wanna tell people about our topic, but you have to provide the information in a way that someone who is naive to the topic will understand.
2:50
So it helps you get past the curse of knowledge, which I think is really important in my line of work as a pharmacist.
2:58
What we say on our podcasts is not always received the way that we want it to be received, so this book, Find Your Red Thread, helps you share your message in a way that someone who is naive to the topic can understand.
3:13
There's a reason they're listening to your podcast, and that's because they don't know about the thing that you are an expert on.
54:06
Now, Kim provided a list, but I'm here to tell you this is exactly what I was looking for, and that is we think we're not moving anywhere because we don't realize there are so many different ways to measure success, and so here is Kim going over her list
54:25
Yeah, numbers provide social proof that people are listening.
54:29
Yeah, I get that, but there's so many other things like growing as a person and, uh, helping my voice to mature.
54:37
You know, feeling confident and sounding confident while stepping up to the mic.
54:42
I used to have to write out pretty much exactly what I was going to say before I said it, but now I can operate off of an outline and let myself just go with it.
54:52
I'm gonna elaborate on some of these.
54:54
Creative fulfillment, I'll tell you, there's so much creative fulfillment.
58:50
Just jumping in quick enough to say there's that service word again
5:40
Next up, we got Kim Newlove.
5:42
Hey, Dave.
5:42
This is Kim Newlove with The Pharmacist's Voice podcast and the Perrysburg podcast.
5:47
I'll tell you about my podcasts first, and then I will answer the question of the month. For my first podcast, which is called The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast, you can find that at thepharmacistsvoice.com. 6:09

6:12
It's a local podcast.
6:13
It's a service project.
