Killing Technology

Okay.

That would be Roar and Killing Technology.

Killing Technology.

That's the one – that's my favorite.

That's

That's like, they're like just interesting takes on these songs.

And then having seen them play live and, you know, so I never steer anybody towards Roar.

Usually it's either Killing Technology or the one that follows that Dimension Hatros.

This is from Voivod's fifth album, 1989's Nothing Faced, which was their creative, commercial, and critical breakthrough.

They started as a punk-influenced speed metal band and started incorporating prog elements like odd time signatures and weird dissonant chords on their third and fourth albums, which were Killing Technology and Dimension Haptris.

I think that's how you pronounce it.

Nothing Faced was their only album to make the Billboard 200, where it peaked at number 114 and sold over 200,000 copies, which makes it their biggest seller ever.

So we're going to hear that, Lost in Space.

And then we're going to hear some vintage Canadian thrash from Voivod, going back to their third album, Killing Technology, which was released in 1987 on Noise Records.com. and we're going to hear a song called Forgotten in Space.

And, you know, we probably could have done a whole Voivod show with the amount of sort of science fiction themes that they've laced through their albums over the decades.

But this is where we're going to start, killing technology and lost in space and forgotten in space, floating out there somewhere like all you listeners.

Hope you're enjoying this episode of Somewhere Out in Space on Megawatt Mayhem.

The stone has fallen without sound.

Oh, yeah.

Forgotten in Space.
