Once, it was a guest, which was a huge deal.

The thing with those incidents was that those in the control booth didn't notice their mistake until the others screamed at them to hit the E-stop.

Those new hires were either retrained or moved to a simpler ride.

About one incredibly busy day, there were five of us running things.

I think at Kong, you know, we run one of the largest enterprise AI gateway fleet.

And not only we show identity to agents, but we also do relimiting, blocking, and, you know, kind of having a kill switch.

And this is becoming a large risk into boardrooms of, you know, the Fortune 500s.

Yeah, no, this is really fascinating.

American companies and it's getting into some of these national security questions as well.

And so let's talk a little bit about what the defender needs.

You alluded to a few things that around kill switches, around permissions, around tracking.

What does the defender need to be successful here?

You need evidence to back you and control.

Number five is emergency stops.

I cannot emphasize this enough.

This one is super critical.

California wants an AI kill switch, and quite frankly, the entire planet needs to pay attention.

Now, think about it this way.

If a company releases an AI system capable of taking consequential actions, it should have to demonstrate two things in my opinion.

I think this is a very welcome move here.

I'm a big fan of this, and the principles behind it deserve national adoption, but they also need to be adopted around the world.

So today, we're gonna talk about what California's order actually does, why independent oversight unbelievably matters, what an AI kill switch actually can realistically accomplish, and how governments around the globe should turn these ideas into actual enforceable protections.

So let's start with California and what they've done.

We finally got a gear list.

Okay, how are we gonna lay out the gear? How are we gonna cable the gear? What is the network for the gear? How's the power gonna go? How's the E-stop gonna manage it? How's this gonna go? On paper, to the average person, that sounds perfectly rational for public safety.

And, of course, if you look at the sci-fi movies, of course, it would be the autonomous drones, you know, and they would be rewriting their script or rewriting their blueprint, and they would be killing everybody.

And, you know, nobody would have a kill switch, which is kind of the big topic of the day, actually, with the kill switch.

Back to your question, though, about anthropics.

So there was this...

37 or 38% of the stock market is in those AI companies called the Mag7.

So that's kind of when it comes to, you know, Anthropic, you were talking about the extinction.

But the topic for the day is this kill switch and what has just happened recently.

and this is just hot off the press, NVIDIA and Microsoft, both of their, Brad Smith, who's the president of Microsoft, and then NVIDIA, you've got Jensen Wong, he's the CEO of NVIDIA, they're both saying that they, they said the answer is to shut down the labs.
