And we needed to start to understand how do you serve the middle-income neighborhoods? How do you ensure that you have what they're looking for at the price that they're looking for and the service that they're looking for? Because when you think about Westlands, Kilimani, Lovington, there's a high concentration of restaurants and grocery stores.
C
7:33Caroline MutukuGUEST
But when you move, you know, to the outskirts of Nairobi, the density reduces, right? And therefore, you know, being able to understand how to serve customers better, I think it's one thing that we've done pretty well now over the last four years.
M
7:49Moses KemibaroHOST
I also get the sense that today, I mean, I think you're talking about 12 towns and cities, more than 6,000 merchants, also 2,200 active riders.

D
4:22D Blackx LesalonHOST
What is Kijani World? How did it come to be? When did you start even collecting the EU waste? And what sort of interventions or what brought the group together to even start this incredible initiative? Could you walk us through that?
F
4:37Faustina MwololoGUEST
So Kijani World is a youth organization that was formed in Kilimani.
F
4:45Faustina MwololoGUEST
So we had different projects.
F
4:48Faustina MwololoGUEST
We had trees for goals.
F
4:51Faustina MwololoGUEST
We had the e-waste project.
F
4:54Faustina MwololoGUEST
And because in Kibra, we had our environment club and problems in Kibra are different from the one that people in Kilimani face.
F
5:05Faustina MwololoGUEST
So, problems in Kibra come labeled as missed school days, sick children, and lost income.
F
5:12Faustina MwololoGUEST
But problems in Kilimani come as polluted waste, like dams around the physical dumping of waste along the school road and take early waste for example, old phones, chargers, circuit boards contain materials that poison the soil and through Kijani World we collected a ton of e-waste which was a partnership between Wee Centre and Kilimani Primary School and we did a monthly collection and we also did aesthetic drives.
