C- can you, can you remember the first call that you took on the lesbian line?

Um, yes, I, well, I can, I can remember the first call that the Galway Lesbian and Gay Helpline received in 1988, and it, we, there was, uh, five of us who had done the training with Cork and Belfast Lesbian Lines.

Yeah, it, it, I mean, I, I know in the context of that call, Carmel, it, it, it's, it's that woman and her partner lying on the, lying on the ground injured that y- your thoughts are with.

But, like, I can't help but think how awful that was for you as well, and how difficult it is for all of the volunteers to have had to deal with calls like that.

You know, the thing is, Kieran, like, you did feel more privileged than anything to have been there.

Like, the idea of not being there was worse than the idea, than the reality of being there.

... you know, if, if at all possible.

But my, my own story, and, and, and, um, Kieran Cuddihy covered this for four days on Liveline, um, just earlier this month, so it's not just my story.

You know, there, there, there were so, so many women from all around the country phoned in, and it's q- quite heartening for me, um, because, you know, my story began in two, 2015, the end of.

Um, I'd had a clear mammogram in June 2015, and it was one of many.
