Kibbutz

Didn't know what to say.

We landed a few minutes later at this destination in Kibbutz and watched on television the plane go into the second tower.

So needlessly to say, everybody was beside themselves to know what a tragedy it was.

So I got on my phone.

That's not, you know, we know that already with tanks, artillery fire.

Fairly early on, actually, some of the members of the Kibbutzim came out and openly stated that Israel tanks rolled through the Kibbutz and blew up Israeli civilians that were sheltering.

And then there's the helicopter fire on the cars that were getting out of Noah Festival.

We know this also, the Hannibal Directive was implemented on October 7 because Yoav Galant, former defense minister who was defense minister at the time, openly admitted it.

And so I went to Israel and I did a tour of the Gaza Envelope and the affected kibbutzes.

I went to, uh, Kibbutz, I think it was Faraha.

And I thought I was gonna feel real sadness, and I felt some of that, but more than anything, I felt anger towards Netanyahu 'cause as I learned more about how this whole thing played out, first off, the listening agency of the Mossad discovered that in the hours before the attack, the days before the attack, that fifteen hundred plus members of the Mo- of, uh, Hamas had switched their SIM cards to SIM cards that would work in Israeli territory.

They knew, they knew something was going on.

As crazy as that sounds, I wasn't initially alarmed by his message.

When I was 14, my family had moved from Kibbutz near Am, the community inside the Gaza envelope where I was born and raised, to Netiv Ha'ara, the closest Israeli community to the Gaza Strip.

The house my parents built there together was less than a quarter mile from the northern border fence.

For the past 20 years, a steady soundtrack of rockets, sirens, and gunfire had been the reality for Israelis and Palestinians living close to the border.
