Khazars

But I'm not hijacking America's foreign policy to settle a 100-year-old score.

Yeah, we must pay the Khazar debt.

We must fight for the Khazarian vendetta of centuries ago, right? And by the way, rabbis say that too.

300-year-old score, whatever, stop.

You just have to.

Ukraine is still a major center for, um, for Jewish power.

Maybe later on, we could talk about the project of New Khazaria, which I've dealt with in, in great detail, which this war has derailed.

But, um, but the, the expulsions, as you said, the, the-- on pretty much the exact-- There was also sexual vices, stuff like, uh, uh, prostitution.

Um, but these expulsion edicts were identical in almost every single case.

And when you have a talented leader like Bohdan Khmelnytsky, um, uh, you're, you're gonna get the results that you need.

None of this had to happen, but it was inevitable by sixteen forty-eight.

Well, um, maybe get into a little bit about this new Khazaria.

Um, the, uh, I think it was obvious to some people when this started, um, and looking at what's been going on for, you know, since the Soviet Union fell, that Jewish interests had their eyes on Ukraine.

Keep in mind, the majority of the Israeli governance historically has been of Ashkenazi descent.

That means they come from the Khazarian Empire.

They converted to Judaism between the 7th and the 9th century.

This is modern day Ukraine and a little bit of Russia.

Now, interestingly enough, what corresponds with that is that During the same exact period, the Byzantine Empire was forcibly converting a lot of Jews.

And this led to a lot of Jews resisting that conversion, and they fled to this area of Khazaria.

So the Khazar rulers welcomed Jewish merchants because they connected the Byzantine, Islamic, and Silk Road markets.

And they often brought linguistic skills.

So, um...

Depending on who you read, because there's a lot of literature out there trying to debunk it, but they'll say, hey, it's really only the Khazar elite that converted.

From my reading, what appears to me, maybe not all of Khazaria converted.

Certainly the elite that ran Khazaria converted to Judaism.

That the Torah or other texts get lost.

And they have to get lost because they have to be taken out of the cave again to inaugurate a kind of new moment of renewal, right? We have this in the legend of the Khazars, which is, you know, a set of medieval, pretty much legendary texts about the conversion to Judaism of a late antique or early medieval kingdom, Turkic kingdom.

where part of the story that is told about it is that some people hid the Torah in a cave to protect it from the Babylonians, and they forgot it was there, but they still went in the cave to pray.

It was a community gathering place.
