Khalil Madovi

It's just curious that it's so underutilized, scarcely ever, and it creates a distinction between the two that is probably pursuant to the time jumps and accelerated pace of the second act in comparison with the first.

I also want to talk about the work of Khalil Madovi, who is composer, sound designer, and musical director on this creative team, and the use of music in these moments of transition is also hugely important in characterizing the thing with its cultural setting, with its time period, with its tone.

This, in contrast to The Cherry Orchard, feels, from my limited perspective, much closer to a quintessential August Wilson play production.

I think it's also found a great home at the Lyric Hammersmith.
