The push to expand aerospace innovation builds on an established industry at YLW including KF Aerospace.

The company is helping Okanagan College build a new training hangar for aerospace-related programs.

If all goes according to plan, the hangar will also be used to train students in drone-specific technologies.

So part of that was we received over 1,000 endorsement letters from the institutions, from individual businesses and Chamber of Commerce in their writing to ensure that they are able to get it.

A good example would be KF Aerospace.

It's a Canadian aerospace company which sent a letter of support for Mohawk College, which obviously we were in Hamilton today to be able to make the announcement.

So then the notion is we're actually matching courses and individual student numbers with the needs of the community.

They've been a huge help in getting this all put together year after year.
