Wolverine and Morph recruit members of the former's old hit squad, Team X, consisting of Sabretooth, Yuriko, a.k.a. Lady Deathstrike, Maverick and Garrison Cain.

Flying above the snowy countryside of Canada, searching for the Weapon X facility, the team prepares to get vengeance against Dr. Abraham Cornelius, the scientist who was behind their experimental abilities.

A classic, will they or won't they kill each other, says Morph.

oh about who's it saying it about i think he's talking about uh wolverine and saber tooth a classic will they or won't they kill each other so basically talking about the tension between the two and it's like a nice play on the uh play on the phrase also morph gets away with a massive burn on saber tooth's outfit he he sasses him for his outfit and i'm like man you're lucky your head's still attached to your shoulders mate

Suddenly, the helicopter is hit by a flock of mutated birds, forcing the vehicle to crash.

So I think, Hmm.

Do I go based off of the character or their design? I think my next character I'm going to pick is Morph.

I think Morph was a great addition to X-Men 97.

And I definitely think he could make some, like for some interesting minifigs, you could get like, I don't know.

I don't really have much to say.

I guess you could say he's randomly Thanos or just random characters because, you know.

his powers but yeah

i like that pic he was on my list for sure uh like you're saying though it's it's almost like the mystique minifigure it's like finally we have mystique uh but it's hard to I mean, like, she can't do much except fight hand-to-hand, and then Morph is, like, every time he's fighting, he's using someone else's powers.

I know we're supposed to Ben talk about it and honestly we were gonna do something like this we should have been done it but season two is now out so I think this is a perfect time to go ahead and get into it zone in on it so let's go ahead and start with X-Men the anime series with season one establishing the core team the anti-mutant hysteria and primary antagonists like Magneto the Sentinels and Apocalypse so It starts out with Jubilee being targeted by the Mutant Control Agency and being saved by the X-Men including Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, Beast, and Professor X.

The X-Men is destroyed in Mutant Registration files but suffer a heavy toll with Morph is seemingly killed by Sentinels and Beast being arrested.

Magneto attacks a prison to free Beast who chooses to stay and face a legal trial and Sabretooth goes on a rampage and is brought back to the X mansion.

Professor X tries to psychologically rehabilitate Sabretooth against Wolverine's wishes while Magneto targets a chemical plant to force Xavier into an ideological showdown.

Yeah, this season was the most memed on.

Which is all good, which makes it more legendary, more iconic that way.

Now, season two focuses on the legacy virus precursors, Cyclops and Jean's wedding, Morph's return, and Cable's temporal missions.

Now, on the eve of Cyclops and Jean's wedding, a brainwashed resurrected Morph, manipulated by Mr. Sinister, infiltrates the mansion to destroy the X-Men from within.

neat.'"Uh, actually within the past few months, a couple double whammy character things that I didn't know about.

On the Marvel side, I didn't know Morph out of the animated series was based off of an actual X-Man.

Oh, really?

I grew up think- yeah, I grew up thinking he was a show original, and to a degree he kind of sorta is.

But the original Morph, uh, was called Changeling.

Oh.

He debuted back in the '60s.

And we're very okay with it.

That one is the one and then the Jubilee one.

So, Ken, is that the episode that we just watched?

So this was a good episode for me.

Yeah, I think one of the good things, and I'm sure we'll get into it, but one of the good things about these solo episodes like we had with Storm last season is that we really get a chance to do a deeper dive into these characters, who they are really on the inside, their flaws, as well as their strengths.

And I think that not only with Wolverine, but we also got a good chance to have him play off of Morph in a way where Morph kind of is a mirror character to wolverine in a lot of ways and helps us understand him a little bit better and gives us i think the line of the show right at the end of the episode

yeah yeah so let's get into the deep dive you mentioned that a little bit let's start talking a little bit about some of the moments from this this episode that really did things for you um What do you think the big picture message that they're trying to communicate to us from this episode? What are you taking away from it when you think about what we just watched?

But we didn't get that.

Honestly, this is better as a Morph episode than it is as a Wolverine episode, in my opinion.

See, I see where you're coming from, but I think the reason that it works so well for me as a Wolverine episode is that at the end of it all, Wolverine basically says, yeah, I haven't changed.

It's just a reminder that Wolverine hangs out with good guys, but he's not always such a good guy.

Right.

And I think that that's something that Morph learned

about Logan.

I love the exchange between the two of them at the end.

We need a leader of my team.

And I think I'm going to give that position to Morph.
