Kevin Sabet

Across the country, public health officials are warning of an evolving drug crisis from over-the-counter herbal supplements to lethal synthetic opioids that can be more potent than fentanyl.

Kevin Sabet is the CEO of the Foundation for Drug Policy Solutions.

He told Fox's America's Newsroom this.

The bottom line is just because you can buy it at a store does not make it safe.

I think two is the only real other option.

If the ALJ recommends two, then Sam, Kevin Sabet, and their arsenal and war chest are going to have a good argument at the DC circuit that it shouldn't have gone to three if the DEA actually does issue a final rule moving to three.

If the ALJ recommends three, then I think Schedule 3 is done deal for the term marijuana.

This is different than the medical marijuana framework that was implemented in April.

Some speakers emphasize that if that's too burdensome or strict, it might just reduce access and push people to access psychedelics outside of the FDA approved model.

While others said that whilst these are at least in their early days, of delivery if approved that the REMS and other safety restrictions should be tighter and loosened as data are collected in the real world so there was some sort of technical discussion around what rollout should look like if approved but there was no outright critic of psychedelics aside from one person Kevin Sabet who is known for his outspoken stances against drugs including psychedelics and cannabis And there are also some words of caution or balance from several speakers.

But generally, this was incredibly positive in terms of the tenor of the comments made on the day, all very focused on rollout, as I mentioned, with approvals almost assumed by many people on the day.

So advocates will be happy with the proceedings, which went ahead without a hitch.

And it's not even a question.

Well, the only positive thing I see about SAM is the fact that Kevin Sabet is actually still in charge, and he is not a serious person.

This is a man, again, who left a bag of infused gummies at a debate that he brought as a prop, but just left it on the table and walked away so that anybody could share them later on.

The reason this is, I mean, like I said, I feel like the, the, the, the people like that, Sam, whatever, Kevin Sabet say that, uh, th- they're dwindling.

You know, there's not much left in those, those funds to sup- keep continue to support that.

... have argued that the new .4 milligram language established in 2025, thank you, uh, would eliminate the public health threat of intoxicating products in ex- in accessible places, like gas stations and corner stores.

Kevin Sabet, president and CEO of Smart Approaches to Marijuana, said in a statement to the Washington Examiner that the industry's job and tax revenue argument is a false bargain.

Uh, suck it, guy.

Okay? Whatever governments collect from these products has to be weighed against what taxpayers then spend on emergency room visits, addiction treatment, impaired driving crashes, law enforcement, and the broader social costs that come with normalizing another intoxicating industry.

That's a case for a number on the package.

And you know who agrees with me on that? Kevin Sabet.

Kevin Sabet runs the Smart Approaches to Marijuana, the biggest anti-legalization operation in the country.

He went on public radio in Boston on August twentieth to argue for repealing legalization in Massachusetts.

And in the middle of it, he says, "You wouldn't call a light beer and a bottle of grain alcohol the same drink." Kevin, you're right.
