Kevin Norbury

Uh, we're fortunate enough to have some very fine musicians in the band to, who I looked up to.

Uh, the likes of Ray Todd and Kevin Norbury, who not only was a fantastic horn player but was also my songster leader for a time.

Uh, when I moved onto euphonium, I sat next to a guy called Peter Finch.

It was an experience sitting alongside Peter.

Wonderful to speak to you, and also to share the evening with you a few weeks back at the Royal College of Music with the International Staff Band and Staff Songsters celebrating you and your music.

To celebrate further, we've got a couple of tributes from colleague Salvation Army composers who wish to share some of their thoughts on your music.

First up, we hear from Peter Graham, followed by Kevin Norbury.

Ken, as you celebrate your 80th birthday, I wanted to reflect briefly on the many ways your music has featured at different stages of my life.
