Kevin McGonigle

Although I'm not as certain, at least right now, and obviously it's super early and season isn't even over yet, but just in terms of, like, exactly when it'll be.

I mean, like, when we were taking Weatherholt, McGonigle, and Griffin, I was pretty sure they were gonna be up, like, right at the start or very soon after, and they all were.

Um, and I mean, there's probably still an off chance that Walcott's, like, May, you know what I mean? Or whatever.

Um, not that that's a huge deal, but you know what I'm saying.

And then that, my best league is that DC draft where I drafted the guy...

I, I mean, at that point we knew a lot of guys were making the team.

And in that team I drafted Sal Stewart, who w- had already been up at the end of the year, but I took him, I took Weatherholt, I took McGonigle, I took Benge, and I took Waldschmidt, all five in that league, and that's been a big part of my offense this year, has been a lot of those guys.

So I don't know.

For sure.

And so that's kind of why it's encouraging e- even as he's been in a mini rut for Kevin McGonigle's standards that, that we've seen the power really tick up, uh, as of late.

And so all the prospects we're gonna discuss today are guys who are gonna get drafted, you know, well within those 50 rounds.

Um, but last time at this year, Jeff, I already knew that I was gonna wanna roster Connor Griffin and Kevin McGonigle the following season.

Like, we, we obviously hadn't seen them in the big leagues.

We didn't quite know exactly how those rosters were gonna look on opening day of 2026.

But I already knew at this point last year that Connor Griffin was gonna be a, a player I wanted to roster.

Kevin McGonigle was gonna be a player I wanted to roster.

And I certainly would roster all the players we're gonna talk about, but I haven't quite kind of figured out exactly who my priority targets are gonna be.

I don't know exactly how the market's gonna treat these players.

He has some of the best plate discipline of any rookie.

I think the American league Rookie of the Year race has been dominated for so long by Kevin McGonigle, and if you don't pick McGonigle than you're definitely going with Parker Messick, that people have just kind of tossed Chase DeLauter to the side a little bit, and I think even I am guilty of that in a way.

This guy has been such a good hitter all season long.

30% above league average, has a ton of power, hits the ball to all fields.

They've lost five straight series.

Uh, without McGonigle, they get swept in this.

Uh, and the Dodgers, I mean, they're, they're just kinda keeping tabs on who's back, and Snell strikes out 10 over five.

Glasnow with a big old outing.

Yeah, w- let's check the, the position player side of things.

Um, and then you got Kevin McGonigle, obviously.

So right now I, I'd say McGonigle, Messick, they're probably the front runners.

I could see Tolley being in the top three as of right now.

some prospects that are not posted much.

Yeah, early season, you know, Connor Griffin stuff, you know, Kevin McGonigle stuff, you know, W- Weatherholt.

Yeah.

These three guys we were high on.

If you have the pit- pick they had for Max Clark, you should be able to hit on that one the vast majority of the time.

But Kevin McGonigle, that was a, that was a great pick, uh, where he was taken, second round, right? Um-

He was a late first-rounder, I believe-

There's good luck and bad luck.

Hey, good luck, Dylan Dingler turned into one of the best players in the league, or Kevin McGonigle outpaced any expectation he had.

There's some luck there, too.
