And if I could just piggyback on that, I think that's really well said, Brian.
7:23
But I just wanted to mention that the proposal and the document that we've put forward comes out of research in a number of states and interviews, confidential interviews with a large number of clerks.
7:36
many of whom talk to us about exactly the same kind of issue that Brian raised, about the fact that the parties right now are so intense in their competition that they are really looking for things from election officials.

Sometimes they're looking for validation of a narrative about what they allege happened in a prior election.

And so officials are in some states, I think this has happened less in Utah, but in other states, there's been a situation where officials are being kind of asked to take the party line and say there was X problem or Y problem with a prior election.
8:06
Even when those officials know that that's not true because they know how elections work, there's times when clerks have been, in other states, have been pressured to not certify an election that they knew was an accurate result.
