Kevin Decker

Georgia State has been excellent so far this year with their quarterback, Cameron Brown.

And on the other side, Old Dominion, I think part of their drop-off is they lost their O.C., Kevin Decker.

He went to Memphis, and they hired from within.

Just haven't been the same team.

Yeah.

And, and, and Kevin Decker

...

Tim DeMorat

What kind of precipitated that move and what is going to stick? Is he going to be a sideline OC or is he going to be in the booth? I find it very interesting.

Kevin Decker, for what I know, I think he was on the field every time he called a game for Ultimate.

I don't

remember not seeing him.

Remember, that's where those players came from, from ODU and the coach.

Now the coach, that offensive coordinator, is it Kevin Decker? He is the offensive coordinator for Memphis.

Charles Huff plucked him right out.

And...

So they were already on backup quarterback and they still managed to win the bowl game.

Colton Joseph off to Wisconsin, OC Kevin Decker to Memphis.

So they have the same system on offense, but it's because they promoted from within.

And it's not quite the same setup without Cowboy Colt, without Decker, who was there for a couple of years.

Instead, Carter goes off 183 yards and four touchdowns.

This Kevin Decker system, talked about it in August.

It is so good at creating open running lanes, both for the quarterback when he pulls it and these running backs.

And this system is already cooking, hit the ground running.

Yeah, so they do have a new offensive coordinator, but that doesn't mean the scheme is going to look very different.

They decided to promote from within this offseason after former offensive coordinator Kevin Decker left for the same job at Memphis.

So they just promoted Cody Cook to OC to keep that system the same.

And so it's going to look a lot like what we've seen out of ODU in years past.
