I'm going to say I really like this film.

It stars Brendan Fraser.

Do you remember him from The Whale and The Mummy films? It also stars Kerry Condon.

Do you remember the sister of one of the guys in The Banshees of Ennishirin? She's beautiful and fantastic and she's great in this too.

And also a sort of cameo but very powerful performance from Damien Lewis.

I want to get my

troops out there now and all that sort of stuff.

But another guilty pleasure in this film was Kerry Condon.

I couldn't work out whether she was having a thing with Eisenhower.

And effectively, it's all about weather, really.

Yeah, there is a scene in it where Andrew Scott is talking with Kerry Condon, who plays Kay Summersbee, Eisenhower's personal secretary, and he's talking about the weather, and we never really think about it, and what it actually is, what is the wind, what is rain, what is it there for, but as you say, I suppose the film comes at it from kind of a british angle of you just don't understand the weather we have to deal with here man yes yes yeah

yeah yeah absolutely and and there's a lot of truth in that um and especially for the americans the performances johnny there there is there's oscar winning talk regarding andrew scott's performance do you think that's fair

um i don't know at the beginning of the film he's kind of taken as kind of an isolated character, you know, far kind of down the food chain, and he's just through his rigidly sticking to his guns and his data and his science and his facts, he gradually moves up the food chain very rapidly to being the man who calls the invasion.

He has to have this hard, stoic front.

Cumberland not working more? Because she is one of the best working actresses out there right now.

He's hard to get to like.

I mean, the rest of the people around him American meteorologist Irving Crick, for instance, and Montgomery, played by Damien Lewis, are in conflict with him all the time.

And it's Kerry Condon who brings the heart to this particular film, who understands all perspectives of what Eisenhower's going through, what Scott is going through, and the intensity that builds towards the ever-gripping and ticking clock of D-Day.

yeah so I'm just all gonna roll it yeah but I mean the cast is amazing the cast is amazing there's something for this it's like you've got Andrew Scott Brendan Fraser Kerry Condon Damian Lewis Chris Messina and it's like it's like oh there's the cast is amazing and it's just it's all about whether and I figure it's gonna be the kind of film that's just going to be come down to those performances because that any dynamism you're gonna get is gonna be in the performances because it's not gonna be about people running up and down and yelling get out of the way and shoot it or anything like that it's gonna be people sit sat down there and you're gonna and and they're going to have to make you care about the fact that a cloud just appeared on the horizon that kind of thing do they do that Sean

wow okay so so this is it so Right from the start, I thought, yeah, I'm going to enjoy this film because there's a couple of scenes where he hasn't got his cap on and he gets saluted, but he doesn't salute back, which you don't salute.

So you never do a salute if you haven't got your cap on.

You really felt the pressure.
