Kent Pavelka

We ought to manage expectations

... any more, uh, uh, communication with Kent Pavelka yesterday?

Uh, yeah, he texted me back, um-

Oh, wow

"I have some pretty seasoned thoughts on programming." [laughs]

There you go.

[laughs] See, I'm just anxiously wai- r- remember last year during the NCAA tournament run, they announced those, uh, talking Kent Pavelka bobbleheads?

Yeah.

It'll be a fascinating Saturday because it's, it'll be kinda different than any other what with the game starting that late.

Of course, the Tokyo Bowl, as we mentioned, was 10:00 PM, but that was in the day when it wasn't on TV and all that [laughs], you know? So, uh, I remember listening to Kent Pavelka till about, uh, 1:15 AM, uh, as Nebraska wrapped up the Big Eight Championship.

This is different.

Everybody will have their eyes on, try to do whatever they can to stay awake.

6:00 pre-game coverage.

Kent Pavelka will take you there, and then 7:00 is your tip.

And then tomorrow, all of the fun.

7:00 AM Husker Game Day starting with pre-game coverage with Ben and Jay.

But anyway, speaking of Nebraska basketball, there's been a lot of talk recently about auctions and auction items.

How about this in the addition to auction items? Kent Pavelka's spotting boards from the NCAA tournament have reached the internet.

That's right.

Kent Pavelka, this is as it's described on the website by GBR.com. Kent Pavelka's own broadcast notes, the sheets under his microphone as he called both games, covered edge to edge in his handwriting, reproduced it nearly 18 inches across and set back to back in one display, a keepsake for the weekend Nebraska waited 60 years for.

Now, reproduced is an interesting word.

These aren't the actual spotting boards.
