The covers are well and truly entrenched for what unfortunately could have been a very big day of cricket.

Because just to almost preface today's episode, Northamptonshire taking on Kent.

It's second versus third in Division 2.

Let's face it, Durham look very likely to go on to not only win the division, but get that first promotion spot.

But for these two clubs, Dan, providing the weather does stay at bay, this could be a pivotal weekend for both Northamptonshire and indeed for Kent.

Yeah, it's huge, isn't it? I think you said about Durham, and we won't talk too much about them, but you'd say they're guaranteed one of the two.

So now it's a Northampton-Kent, maybe Worcestershire battle for that final promotion spot.

And this game in particular, it's a weird one, isn't it? From a neutrals perspective, you kind of think, would both teams quite happily take an even number of points here with a washout, kick the can down the road and take the battle later on into the season? But then equally Northampton at home, a bit of home advantage against the team that they really should have beaten down at Canterbury earlier on this year.

They beat Derbyshire by 338 runs at the R Co-op County Ground.

As for the game taking place at Merchant Taylor's School, Kent the visitors beat Middlesex by 46 runs in that game.

And last but by certainly no means least, in Cheltenham, Worcestershire beat Gloucestershire by eight wickets in what was quite simply a sensational game of cricket.

And Kieran, seeing as you do support the Pears, I imagine that Worcestershire will be up there for our first category.

So we're facing him as well.

But I think it was more the intent that we came out with.

I know we did have to win because, uh, Middlesex losing to Kent meant the results were like, we kind of have to win, otherwise we're in a bit of middle of nowhere.

But with bat and ball, and the amount of pressure we put on their bowlers, it was just an absolute joy to watch, and there's so much credit to the two openers who have just been amazing all season.

Um, we'll get round to the reasons why I'd left school.

And Kent, so, 'cause I was from Kent, and I supported Kent Cricket, and Kent were in a semifinal at the Oval, South London.

And it, I was working at London Bridge, not far from there, and I thought, "If I can get off work early, I can go to the sort of second half, if you like, of that match." And my dad had wangled a day off work, and he was going to it, and he said, uh, "Well, meet me there." And I said, "Well, how am I gonna, how am I gonna find you there in a big crowd?" And he went, "I'm gonna be wearing this shirt." And he had this bright orange shirt.

And I c- when I got there, he was indeed, um, wearing this bright orange shirt, and I could see it from the other side of the ground, and I, I went round and I found him.
