So the first day was actually okay.

Like I thought it was going to be too hot, but we walked around and we went Kensington market and stuff and it was fine.

Like I thought it was pleasant enough.

Then the second day we, I wanted to go to the arcade place.

And we walked.

Through the heat.

Where did we walk to after that? We walked to the Kensington Market.

That's right.

Like it's, it's kind of

like in almost think like Kensington market, like it's a dense market area.

So like, it's got like little back alleys.

It's got like a main street, but it's all red sandstone as like the main pavement.

Chinatown north of Dundas Street is in Ward 11 University, Rosedale.

And tucked in behind the western edge is Kensington Market.

Packed within the narrow pedestrian-filled streets of these ten blocks, a cultural mosaic shaped by layers of immigrant communities that reflect the independent storefronts, from eateries to vintage clothing and produce stands.

Here, affordability issues a constant threat to preserving the unique fabric of the neighbourhood.

We're seeing in commercial areas, commercial rents sometimes triple, quintuple, and really drive out those independently owned, family owned businesses that make Kensington Market such a beautiful place to visit.

Mid to high-rise buildings make up more than 80% of residential dwellings in Ward 10.

A little more than half are rental units.

And I had a band.

We would rehearse in Kensington Market, which is like an iconic part of Toronto.

for known for its multiculturalism and like back in the day it was like the hippie kind of free loving area and and I would gig I'd go to open mics I'd you know play whatever show I could possibly get accepted into and I would go to music conferences and with my burned CDs at the time like hand them out and try and try and build connections so yeah

and at this time from what I understood like you're getting accolades or at least people are you know recognizing your talent vocally But to me, when I listen to your music, where it lands today is it's not just the vocals.

I saw Dwight this summer.

Kensington Market in Toronto.

So it's like it's a hub of immigrants.

It's like I found the eye contact in the market, in Kensington market.

And like, you know, it's like any market in any place.

It's a universal thing you gravitate towards.
