Critics later called it subversive glamour, but at the time it was simply a way to flip punk’s macho swagger onto her own image.

Her first real band was a trio formed in nineteen seventy-six with bassist Steven Severin and drummer Kenny Morris, both of whom were playing loose gigs around Camden.

Siouxsie’s voice, high, nasal, almost wailing, cut through the chaotic instrumentation like a razor blade, demanding attention on the crowded stages.

The thing with the tracker is that it's, like, very electronic sounding, so I wanted to have that organic, like, really tribal Kenny Morris-style Suzy drum.

So all I did was just, you know, Take the rhythm and just replace it with a more organic kind of sounding drum.
