When did that creative relationship with Alliance Theater first begin?

It began when Kenny Leon became their artistic director.

Kenny and I had been friends for years.

And when he was given the job, appointed to the job as artistic director at the Alliance, you know, we were all so excited for him.

And I did four other plays with her while she was at the Alliance and just have had a great ongoing working relationship with her.

And that's wonderful that you had such, I'm sure, many artistic homes in Atlanta, but undoubtedly one of them being Alliance Theater.

I'm curious, you, as you said earlier, you had plays commissioned by Alliance Theater with Kenny Leon.

He directed Blues for an Alabama Sky, Flyin' West, and Bourbon at the Border.

You probably have seen her in Boomerang.

The Miss Pat Show, Elsbeth, or Reasonable Doubt, or maybe you caught her on Broadway with the Tony Award-winning director, Kenny Leon, in her Broadway debut, Home.

Today, I am so excited to welcome to The Coffee Shop, y'all, actress, producer, and director, Brittany Inge.

Hey, thank you for having me.

And I needed all of that.

So I was keeping the worlds very separate.

The casting director at Tyler Perry Studios at the time, she knew that I was an actor.

right you know

what I mean you're like I wonder what a you know Kenny Leon to quote Kenny Leon and Jessica Stone project looks like you know I wonder what a David Lindsay Bear Christopher Durang project looks like you know so it's meanwhile you see you know all these actors working together all the time so it's just like a funny little thing to see you guys talk together it's like actors on actors I love it Um, you're from Boston and, uh, your play Good People, which I just read for the first time and I went to the library to watch.

And that's what this musical is, directed by Kenny Leon, who's incredible, with an amazing book by Nick Green.
