Kenny Aronoff

This is their self-titled album from 2021, a tune called Gypsy.

Before that, also from California, the supersonic blues machine with super drummer Kenny Aronoff, Fabrizio Grossi on bass, Chris Barris on guitar and vocals.

Their 2023 release is called Voodoo Nation.

It appears to be a good one.

So they thought, well, we use this new technology quote, AI, sort of like technology of today.

And I'm like, what? And that's what I turned into the fight or fight, Kenny Aronoff, not fight or flight, fight or fight.

I'm like, well, I'm going to program that thing.

That was when I stepped into my fear.

I'm just doing it.

And that's where the spirit came through.

The real Kenny Aronoff, the fight or fight guy goes, no, I got to be part of this.

I'm not going to let this set me back and bring me down.

Yeah.

I mean, when I get a proper, you know, it's funny, I was talking to Kenny Aronoff today, who I work with, and Joseph Trani, Steve Vai's band.

And Kenny, he sends voice texts.

He rarely will text.

So then after that, I did three months of demos in his house's basement, and we did all the demos for that.

Then we went to Los Angeles and recorded with, like, the Kenny Aronoff, Randy Jackson, Ben Montant, Wally Wachtell, and...

They basically, I mean, I copied my own demos because if I wasn't there, they were never going to get it.

Okay, so this is the precursor to him signing you to his label.

They're kicking it.

He's great on everything.

He's one of those guys that's, he's kind of like Kenny Aronoff, right? Whatever you ask him to do, he's going to do, and he's going to do it well.

Again, I'm kind of going back to, was this a fight to get it on the record? Like, you think about where music was in 88.

Did he have to go to Annie Johns and say, I really, really want this thing? He's like, okay, I gave you the blues on Bad Seamstress into falling apart, but do you really want a five-minute, just slow, aching blues jam on your record? Do you think it was a battle there, Dan?

Really?

People who bring a little something extra to the stage, not just a standing up speech, but they might have, uh, some kind of entertainment value where they're doing something else.

Um, uh, that they bring to the stage to entertain people like a Kenny Aronoff, who's a drummer.

Uh, and he plays the drums in the, in the keynote and it's an example of creativity and it's an example of collaboration.

It's example of problem solving and it's, you know, displayed through what he does.

And which just goes to show, I really want you to have the best speaker possible.

Now, some of my speakers, in my opinion, are the very best in the world at what they do or for the topic that they're an expert in.

Kenny Aronoff, for instance, an amazing speaker who I represent, you know, people like things that are very unique out of left field that they're not really necessarily thinking of.

Usually when you think of a leadership speaker, you're thinking of military, you're thinking of sports.
