[sighs] Is that it? Oh, last but not least, Kennedy Ryan, our beloved Kennedy Ryan.

I read earlier today her books, the Skyland series.

Remember I started reading Kennedy Ryan books? I started with the Skyland series Before I Let Go.

But the Skyland series is in development at Peacock.

I think she's writing it in conjunction with Malcolm D. Lee, which look, which look.

But also, Black man, write this book.

Stop playing with me, Malcolm.

... obviously I have to just talk about the Skyland series by Kennedy Ryan, which-

... we've talked about-

... outside of Atlanta in, um, in Georgia called Skyland.

And you know, Kennedy writes an incredibly sexy and incredibly romantic, like, a really, like, banger of a romance novel.

I've- you cannot go wrong with any Kennedy Ryan books.

But these books, the- these three books specifically, are books that I would press into the hand of, like, anybody who is like-

You are my girl.

And I finished it, and I said, oh, I see now why Kennedy Ryan blurbs the repub of Capone.

And I was like, oh, this makes sense.

You know, she loves a man who was like, that's my woman, and no one's going to get in the way of it.

You're funny.

I'm actually coming over to my girl Kennedy Ryan's house and we're going to hang out.

Okay.

Because I started listening to... score by kennedy ryan tell me why tell me why i'm like literally ordering my coffee and i like i'll get off the train and i'm listening to my book and i'll go to my meeting or whatever um and i get a coffee before and i'm listening i'm ordering my coffee can i please get a uh i spend a latte with agave please as they're having a good threesome in my ears like fully you didn't pause it So usually I just take it off.

Oh, I'll just have them in a nice, lovely place.

Put it back on.

Can you imagine? Wait, wait, wait.

Sorry.

And so I started reading romance novels.

And I ended up becoming friends with a very successful romance novelist, Kennedy Ryan.

And I took a lot of inspiration from her characters and how they're strong.

It's like, both in life and in books, a lot of times women are forced to either be totally strong or be totally submissive.

Absolutely.

And I feel like I heard Kennedy Ryan share something like that, either at a panel.

It might have been Black Romance Book Fest or a podcast recently where she talked about the fact that even though there are times when she does research and writes about multiple communities and identities, that she takes full responsibility for doing the work and for anything that she may get wrong.

She rarely gets it wrong.

They're like, I'm not picking up a second chance romance novel.

How can I get back together? But I think people who do it well, do it really well.

Like Kennedy Ryan, I think is the queen of perfect second chance romance novels.

And there's many others too.
