Kenizzite

You may be Ruth.

You may be Caleb from the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, right? We are his.

And he loves us all the same.

Verse 10, if you obey the voice of Yah, your Elohim, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in the book of the Sefer HaTorah, and if you turn to Yah, your Elohim, with all your heart and with all your soul, you lukewarmies are in danger of being vomit chunks.

Father, let your word bless your people tonight in Jesus' name.

"Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, 'Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh Barnea.

40 years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me to spy out the land, and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

Nevertheless, my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God.'" Take note, "I wholly followed the Lord my God." "And Moses swore on that day saying, 'Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine in inheritance and thy children's forever because thou has wholly followed my God.'" Take note, all of these things because thou has wholly followed the Lord.

If so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord has said." Next verse.

"For an inheritance," let me finish it up.

"Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel." Hallelujah.

Thank you, Father, because you will bless your Word.

We're going to look at some components of that in just a moment.

In Joshua 14, Hebron has belonged to Caleb, the Kenizzite, ever since because he followed the Lord, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly.

It was in Joshua 14.

Caleb gave the report.

Verses 19 to 21 of this chapter indicate there's 10 pagan nations in it.

The Kenite, the Kenizzite, the Katonite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, the Jebusite, the Mosquitobite.

You know, they're all there.

And then Abram asks an honest question in verse 8.

Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal.

And Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses, the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh Barnea.

Forty years old was I when Moses, the servant of the Lord, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to aspire out the land.

And I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

We even see examples of this, like Caleb, one of the two spies that stayed faithful.

He was a Kenizzite.

He was not biologically an Israelite, but he was retroactively adopted into the tribe of Judah.

And so he became a legal descendant of Judah.

Verses 19 to 21 of this chapter indicate there's 10 pagan nations in it.

The Kenite, the Kenizzite, the Katonite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Girgashite, the Jebusite, the Mosquitobite.

You know, they're all there.

And then Abram asks an honest question in verse eight.

Look at verse 6.

Then the people of Judah came to Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, The who? The what? Now you tell us? You realize that this is like Rahab the harlot.

We have... a Gentile.

He's a son of a Kenizzite.

And by the way, that is repeated as you look at the end of the passage.

Therefore, verse 14, Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, the what? The Kenizzite to this day because he wholly followed the Lord, the God of Israel.

You know, people think, as you look at the Old Testament, this is Israel and it's an impermeable people.

And it is an impermeable people in terms of God's election.
