the man who really seemed to key things and opened the way for Cincinnati, and I guess that if there's any doubt in anybody's mind what importance this man holds with his ball club, it would certainly have shown up well yesterday.

During the, uh, middle of the trial, which was sort of interesting because I knew of Roger Clemens, um, I am a avid baseball watcher, uh, but he also had been teammates with, uh, Ken Griffey Sr., who I grew up with and played ball with.

And, uh, during the middle of the trial, I had gone back to my hometown to Nora, Pennsylvania, uh, for a homecoming event, and Kenny was attending that event also, and he knew I was presiding over the case.

I don't think he was trying to do anything inappropriate, but he came over and he said, "You know, Roger's a really good guy." [laughing] I said, "Kenny," [laughs] I said, "I, I can't talk to you about the case." I really don't think he was doing anything he thought was inappropriate.
