So I tried to see as many of the comics as I could.

He was one of the best comedy live acts I've ever seen.

Mm, '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s.

And I will preface this by saying Ken Dodd was one of them, so take this information with bearing that in mind.

He's a goofy, uh, sort of, he's a comedian o- of a sort, but of a, of a, of a, a particular like, just sort of like-

But, um, yeah, it was, it was funny to see The Beat- The Beatles had two in the '60s, and, and Ken Dodd was the third one.

For my next guest, David Hamilton, a distinguished radio and TV presenter affectionately known as Diddy David Hamilton, a moniker bestowed upon him by the legendary comedian Ken Dodd.

David's broadcasting journey started in 1959, and since then he's hosted an impressive tally of over 12,000 radio shows and more than a hun- a thousand TV shows.

His new book, Long And Winding Road, is a journey through seven decades of radio and television.

And, uh, uh, when I got back to England in 1960, it was quite difficult to break into radio.

The BBC didn't have any, many radio shows.

But I got a job as a television announcer in the days when announcers appeared in between the programs, and that's, that's how I got to team up with Ken Dodd, who y- you mentioned earlier.

He was doing a series for ITV on Setox, and it starred a lot of the big music acts of the day.
