Kelpie

Yeah, Kelpies are Celtic, aren't they? All right.

So Searings has been dropped into this water tank with this creepy creature in it.

And...

So this is a fun fact for the listener.

In Scottish folklore, a Kelpie is a malevolent, shape-shifting water horse that haunts rivers, streams and locks, often luring unwary humans into a watery grave.

And they're huge sculptures, which are horses' heads, to represent the horses that were used for the locks.

Is that correct?

Another one that I read in my teens and I have never forgotten because of just how beautifully... written the imagery is and the storytelling is the Scorpio Races by Maggie Stavater.

I'm not sure how to pronounce her name correctly, but it's one of my favorite books and is about, I'm trying to remember if they're called Kelpies, but they're mer-horses that come out of the sea and they train them to race.

And you try not to die during this particular race.

I cannot forget the imagery of them racing on the beach with these very, very dangerous horses.

I've been talking about her being a siren because this lady, Nesta, like she's got a chokehold on Nesta when she sings.

And she slammed that fucker in her face.

Raised a dead army, killed the Kelpie, and scared the fuck out of Azz and Cass.

Mind you, when it comes to Celtic-flavoured Tull tracks, we're rather spoilt for choice.

But sticking with our mythical beasts theme, I've decided to go for Kelpie, named after the shape-shifting water spirit of Scottish folklore, a creature that lures the unwary to a decidedly slow and soggy end.

Hmm, lovely.

Of course, many think that up here on Exmoor in Devon, we have our own mythical beasts.
