Mm

... um, that they assume that you're approaching every conversation with a level of care and multiple perspective, but the reality is they just don't.
39:41
And so as females, I think there definitely is a higher level of scrutiny.
39:46
I have had several, several moments where I have been in a conversation or I have received feedback That I have to take a deep breath because it is in my head, "You would have never asked Ethan that.
40:01
You would have never pushed back to Ethan or that.
40:04
You would have never put that label." And so I have to make those decisions in that moment of, of how do I respond, and I, I will say I've done it in a variety of ways depending on circumstance.
40:17
Sometimes I have to take a more direct, curt response just to establish, like, I'm the leader.

Mm-hmm
9:12
Why do you think Amelia kept pushing herself and pushing other women aviators forward?
9:16
It was really, I would say, kind of a, a personal mission of Amelia to prove that women were just as capable of men.
9:23
This was a time when many women were housewives, and she wanted to get women out of the kitchen and into the cockpit.
9:30
She wanted to demonstrate that you could indeed have a career outside of marriage, and it was important to her to prove that.
9:38
So, you know, with each first she took, she continued to cement that reality.
9:44
That was very inspirational, but that doesn't mean that it was easy.
9:48
It was not easy at all.
12:32
in.Absolutely. And you and I are both Boilermakers, so I'm curious how Amelia came to Purdue and just her journey as a Boilermaker.
2:36
Can you maybe talk about your journey?
2:39
Sure.
2:39
Yeah, like I said, I started at Purdue 22 years ago.
2:43
And really how that came to be was right out of college, I was kind of figuring out what sector did I want to be in.
2:51
I'd been in the financial services area.
2:53
It just wasn't a cultural fit for me and saw a marketing opportunity at Ivy Tech Community College in central Indiana.
3:01
And that is really where I fell in love for higher education, like attending my first graduation and just seeing the impact that this milestone moment has on families, on the graduates, just really, really filled my cup.

9:25
Can you kind of talk about your, your thought process in that?
