There were some pretty fast times.

Uh, Keely Hodgkinson ran 1:56 for the win in the 800, wore this crazy Nike full body speed suit that had like a hood for her head and stuff.

Uh, really wacky, but she won in it, so maybe it's fast.

And then the other r- distance results of note was, uh, Klaudia Kazimierwska, uh, won the mile.

Friend of the show Nikki Hiltz finished just off the podium in fourth in the mile, marking a month of racing around the world for them.

You might have also seen Britain's Keely Hodgkinson, who won the 800 meter race in 1:56.40 while wearing a custom speed suit by Nike, complete with a ponytail hole by request.

As of now, we do believe that the speed suits would be legal at international competitions like the Olympics.

but yeah China China get ready China we'll go to London next for the Athlos meet which is a women's only meet with small fields but lots and lots of money so we'll just go through the distance races and the women's 800 someone stole the show here and her name was keely hodgkinson who wore a pretty crazy speed suit um sort of out of the blue um you weren't expecting sort of out of the black in um i wasn't like there was no hype about this like she just rocked up in what kathy freeman is that the aussie who wore it

Yeah, so she famously wore a speed suit of sorts to win 400m gold at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Well, it's two from two now, because Kelly Hodge needs another one as well.

name? Keely Hodgkinson.

It's so bold because you're adding a whole layer of pressure to this race because now you have all eyes on you.

That's what I'm wearing.

It's exactly what has got me... like that's that's been my access point um for to getting her watching more athletics and she's you know she turns seven in december so she's definitely in this zone now where it does sort of care about she's a bit more conscious about how she looks or what looks nice and what what how to dress well no makeup and well not makeup obviously but what people wear as makeup yeah yeah and like nails and what she's and all that stuff is like people be able to express themselves in athletics which you which is much more easier to do than some of the some of the other sports I think that has got her into watching it and then she gets sucked into the performances which is the whole the point of showing how amazing these performances are um Well, it's interesting because a lot of people I run with, I think it's really unfair that some of the quite lazy narrative around Keely Hodgkinson at the moment.

I think if you haven't been following what's happened with her throughout the season in terms of the niggles, the setbacks, the injuries, and you also take, you know, at face value, the performances that the three of these amazing athletes are putting in.

week after week and they know she's still competing with vero and brutalist ball without being 100 fit there's this lazy narrative that's been going around about it's on social media and it's on people talking about it about is she doing too much too much commercial stuff and that is that having a an impact on her performances and it's like look firstly get the whole picture because the whole picture is much more complicated than that.
